How to calculate Pillow Plate H.E. with Unilab Pillow Suite
A pillow plate exchanger is commonly used in the dairy industry for cooling milk in large direct-expansion stainless steel bulk tanks. The pillow plate allows for cooling across nearly the entire surface area of the tank, without gaps that would occur between pipes welded to the exterior of the tank.
There are applications in which instead of milk we can heat or cool a general fluid still using pillow plate heat exchangers. Also we need to mention special type of application using Plate Coils which are cost-effective replacements for pipe coils in immersion heating and cooling applications. They offer amplified turbulent flow on both the service and process sides; making them more efficient than pipe coil type heat exchangers.
Thus if we deal with the needs of the diary/food industry, the design of heat exhcanger must ensure the most efficient and cost effective heat exchanger solution is always provided. From raw data, Unilab Pillow Suite can design and produce a range of custom-built pillow and pcoils heat exchangers for a multitude of applications and operational conditions.
The main typologies we tackled in the  diary/food industry in our Unilab Pillow are:
PILLOW
BMC
PCOIL
Pillow module allows the calculation of pillow plate heat exchangers inside a circular or rectangular tank, designed for batch applications. Among other features it calculates the time required to reach the temperature, and it handles single and double embossed pillow plate types. Besdies it automatically plans the plate design, including soldering, and positioning of the passage dividers.

BMC TANK module allows the calculation of bulk milk tank coolers, using pillow plate heat exchangers. Among other features it calculates the time required to reach the temperature, and it handles single and double embossed pillow plate types. Besidies it automatically plans the plate design, including soldering, and positioning of the passage dividers.

All designs from Unilab Pillow Suite are application specific, ensuring efficient and cost effective design in regards to heat transfer and the fin and geometric data relative to the heat exchanger and you can rined tune the same in regards to your laboratory data.
Hence, the above mentioned modules and videos will give you an idea of How To use Unilab Pillow Suite to design your pillow and plate coils heat exchanger.
