The Kaizen method in daily life
What is the Kaizen method, how does it work and what advantages can it bring?
It is a (more or less) infallible system which enables people to achieve tangible advantages in daily life. How many times do people make new year’s resolutions which then remain un-fulfilled? Resolutions such as eating better, reading more, doing sport or cutting down sources of stress: people always make promises, which in reality they are unable to keep.
So why can’t they stick to them? The reasons vary according to how boring, monotonous or difficult keeping that promise is. The good news, however, is that with the Kaizen method you can focus on a sort of ongoing improvement, which encourages the individual to exceed his own limits in order to achieve sometimes surprising results.
According to this system, those who decide to put it into practice must deal with specific activities for just one minute each day always at the same time. The fact of having to carry out tasks whether you like them or not for just 60 seconds a day, on the one hand is not viewed as an imposition and on the other, allows you to achieve significant results in small steps.
In brief, it is true to say that this method, developed in Japan, is not yet widespread in the West for the simple reason that here it is generally believed that every objective requires considerable effort. Despite this however, the system in question is straightforward and may be followed in any environment and also under any circumstances.
Among this method’s main advantages of note, are the opportunity to overcome personal insecurities, the chance to embrace a mental approach based on individual success and freedom and also the chance to free one’s self of everything that concerns feelings of guilt and/or powerlessness.
So when should we start to implement this system? The ideal solution would be to start immediately, so as to get some practice in straight away, gradually lengthening sessions by a few minutes each day, until you reach half an hour a day. In this way, self-improvement will be quite easy and not at all restrictive.
That is all regarding the Kaizen method: a very useful system for self-improvement.
