DLL vs SOFTWARE, PT.3 – Our DLL VS external DLLs in our AHU Smart-Air Software
In the previous articles, we discussed about what differentiates a DLL from a Software. In this 3rd article, we will discuss about how our COILS DLL is natively integrated and at the core of our AHU selection software Smart-Air.
WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO SPECIFY is that in Smart-Air the thermodynamic calculation is managed by our internal COILS DLL ONLY. SMART-AIR can manage other coils manufacturers dll rules ONLY for price & weight.
Other 3rd party external DLLs (not for COILS) can be implemented inside of Smart-Air only after a careful analysis and a compatibility test.
Many companies with different AHU software ask for our DLL for Coils Heat Exchangers, proving it to be the best and most accurate on the market! We helped tons of customers reach Eurovent and AHRI certification, on AHU & Coils heat exchangers. So why choosing a different software, at a higher cost, and then integrating our DLL spending additional money, time and effort, when our DLL is natively integrated, and at the heart of our Smart-Air program? Our DLL of Coils, for finned pack heat exchangers’ thermodynamic calculation is the most accurate, reliable and sought-after on the market. You can find it only in Smart-Air, and it’s at the software’s core, so already implemented and ready to be used!
Same thing cannot be said for different DLLs made by other developers, which are obviously not natively inside our software. We can use different analogies to understand why and how Unilab implements 3rd party DLLs into Smart-Air. Let’s use a practical analogy. Think of our DLL as a safe. It contains all the thermodynamic formulas and it allows to perform all the calculations. The Coils DLL is exclusive property of Unilab. We have created it, and it is an engine we know perfectly, because we built it and we know all the formulas inside of it. Hence, the safe is open for Unilab.
In Smart-Air, our renowned Coils DLL is already inside, there is nothing to insert to calculate thermodynamically your Coils. The DLL is already integrated, because it’s our calculation engine.
What is not inside Smart-Air are DLL from others. This doesn’t mean Unilab cannot insert them in Smart Air. It means, however, that it is like inserting an engine you don’t know in your car. It needs to be studied, in order to properly get the right outputs from the inputs given. We must connect an unknown engine to our car, and to do so, analysis is fundamental to “make the car work”.
It is clear that on our DLL, we know the engine. If we put an external engine, we have to study it and see if it fits. How can you be able to make a different DLL work inside our program? Like we said in previous articles, once again having the detailed Manual of the DLL is key!
In order to verify and evaluate the actual compatibility of the DLL requested by the Customer, Unilab must receive the DLL and its manual from the customer, and perform detailed preliminary tests. For the preliminary test, an initial amount may be required. If the test is positive and the DLL can be implemented, the customer will only have to pay the remaining sum for the test, having secured the insertion and confident the DLL is correctly implementable inside of Smart-Air!
