How to improve concentration at work
How can we increase our concentration at work so as to be more productive? If a drastic fall in concentration occurs a few hours after arriving at the office, it is better to find some efficient remedies to counteract the problem: practical solutions which we will outline below, to help maintain optimal performance levels right through until the end of the day.
Make a few adjustments to your working environment and daily habits
The first method to improve concentration at work, is to adjust the working environment and daily habits which lead us to waste time: keeping a tidy desk, for example, is a good way to reduce stress levels and consequently also reduce sources of distraction (if everything is in its rightful place, there’s no need to go nuts trying to find what you need).
As well as this, it is also best to make a series of changes, such as putting the phone on silent mode and avoiding checking it every five minutes, not accessing our personal profiles on Social Media or checking our personal email, setting up a daily program to help us respect deadlines for deliveries and not wasting time on pointless chat with colleagues.
Providing body and mind with what they really need
The second method for increasing concentration at work consists of our capacity to give body and mind what they really need in order to guarantee their optimal performance. For this reason it is essential to remain hydrated, because (as taught at the University of Connecticut), de-hydration affects memory, mood and judgment.
In addition, we must also allow ourselves a break to stretch our legs and re-charge our batteries, spend sufficient time doing physical exercise outside the workplace, take a walk in the sun now and again and also prepare some rosemary tea to bring to work (according to psycho-pharmaceutical research, rosemary tea has a similar effect to that of coffee.)
So these are our practical tips to improve concentration at work, especially when the fall in concentration levels happens early in the morning:Â simple but effective suggestions, to follow carefully in order to achieve tangible benefits for both alertness of mind and physical readiness.
