COILS WEB is the online version of the design module in COILS SUITE, the integrated platform Unilab has dedicated to finned-pack coil design for over 40 years. It isn’t a separate or simplified calculation engine: it’s the same experimentally validated engine already behind the desktop software chosen by more than 700 coil manufacturers in 75 countries, delivered as an always-up-to-date web application. Open a link, sign in, calculate — no installation and no operating-system constraints: it runs on PC, Mac and tablet, with a responsive interface that adapts to the screen.
What you can do with COILS WEB
The module covers COILS’ six core calculation modes — heating, cooling, condensing, direct expansion (DX), steam and pump evaporator — in both verify and selection. Results are consistent with the desktop suite, because what changes is the access environment, not the calculation model. The fluids library holds over 1,000 fluids and refrigerants from the REFPROP library, kept current with the latest low-GWP refrigerants — R455A, R1234yf, R449A, R32 and R454B among others — so there’s no manual update or regulatory change to track: new additions arrive automatically on the server side. A curated library of standard geometries supports fast selection, and Neo, the AI agent built directly into the tool, is one click away to answer thermal engineering questions or help you find your way around the software.
Built for collaboration, not just single calculations
COILS WEB lets you save projects in the cloud and share them with a link, handing work off from sales to engineering — or back — without emailing files around. It’s built for different roles: sales and application engineers who need a credible answer in the field, technical offices that want quick verifications without occupying a desktop seat, manufacturers and distributors who want to offer their customers guided selection with their own geometries, and occasional users who need professional-grade accuracy only a few times a year.
That same experimental accuracy is what, through COILS’ desktop Professional and Enterprise versions, has already supported more than 80 customers through the AHRI and EUROVENT certification process — a technical heritage of almost forty years of research, now available online too.
