Update in Shell and Tube modality “Steam Outside Tubes”: UniSuite Shell Build 230504
A new update of UNISUITE is available! The Build 230504 update of Unisuite is already available to all users in regular technical support, who can now download this latest version.
In the software for calculation in verification, sizing and selection of shell and tube heat exchangers, Unisuite SHELL, the following changes were made in the Steam Outside Tubes mode in order to improve the calculation, especially in the case of boundary limit conditions where the distribution of the surface portions between desuperheating, condensation and subcooling were critical.
For example, fluid outlet temperatures above saturation temperature or high thermal differences in desuperheating or subcooling.
We give an example below:
A new button has now been added to the calculation mask that in case of calculation in verification allows to see the Capacity distribution breakdown:
In this new section, you can see precisely the Capacity allocation with a “traffic light logic” indicating whether the required capacity of the section (desuperheating, condensing or subcooling) has been met.
In case of an insufficient section, a yellow traffic light will be displayed in the case of insufficient capacity or a red traffic light in the case of totally lacking capacity due to insufficient exchanger surface area:
Specific new warnings have also been added in the case of required efficiency of a section greater than 1, examples:
The printout has also been modified by adding details to the initial section, where you can now see the capacities required as well as the obtained:
